Mushroom sector holds vast potential- Subodh Uniyal

The Forest minister Subodh Uniyal has said that the mushroom industry holds a vast potential for success and the youngsters should adopt mushroom culture as a profession. He said this after inaugurating the Mushmush restaurant which is based on the farm to table concept of Divya Rawat also popularly known as Mushroom Girl. Uniyal said that the mushroom industry would also give an impetus to the economy of the state.
Praising Rawat, the minister said she has attained a special place for herself in the field of Mushroom growing with her sheer dedication and hard work. He said that Rawat has become an employment giver and role model for the youth of the state.
Speaking on the occasion Rawat said that she is trying to put forward a farm to table model of entrepreneurship with the help of the restaurant. She said that her objective is to provide a market for the Mushroom growers which would help in preventing migration and prompt reverse migration from the mountainous areas of the state. “A large population of our state works in hotels located in different parts of the country. These are the people who are interested in working in their own state. We want to bring back these people. Everyone associated with mushroom growing asks the question- Where will we sell our produce? This venture is an attempt to answer this question,’’ she said.
Social worker and entrepreneur Anukriti Gusain, BJP leader Neha Joshi and others were also present on the occasion.
