The 22-year-old Muskan who contested from the Warn No 31 of Rishikesh Municipal Corporation as an Independent candidate not just defeated the formidable candidates of the national parties-BJP and Congress- but emerged as the youngest councillor of Uttarakhand. Currently, she is studying MA in the Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University. She was to contest the students’ union election in her university but with the election remaining stalled, she decided to try her luck in the civic body election.
