In latest Uttarakhand news, the administration has heaved a sigh of relief amidst the simmering communal tension in the State post-alleged Purola abduction case as the Muslim organisations, determined to hold a Mahapanchayat in Dehradun on June 18, have called it off following the meeting of the leaders of the community with the State chief minister.  The Muslim community leaders said after the meeting with the CM that they were feeling assured of the good intentions of the State government on the matter and said that they would fully cooperate with the State government in restoring communal peace and harmony in the strife-torn areas of the State.  The Muslim leaders also met the SSP Dehradun Dalip Singh Kunwar.

The leaders of the Muslim organisations said that they had apprised both the CM and the SSP of the miserable plight of the people belonging to the minority community living in Purola and they both assured them that the administration would provide them with full protection.
