N K Joshi will be the new vice chancellor of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University. His appointment has been made by the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh. Joshi is an alumnus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA. Prior to joining as VC of Sri Dev Suman University, Joshi was VC of Kumaun University Nainital. He was also the professor and dean, academic affairs at Uttaranchal University and director at Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad.
He has over 38 years of experience in teaching, corporate training, faculty development, consultancy, research and administration. He has published and presented many papers in national and international journals and conferences and also supervised many PhD scholars. He has successfully completed consultancy assignments for well-known organisations like FAO, FTPP, Rome; Word Bank and Asian Development Bank. He signed 35 National and five International MoUs for academic collaboration.
He is also the chairman of Curriculum Development Committee of National Education Policy (NEP) -2020 for Uttarakhand. Under his chairmanship, NEP 2020 is being implemented in all universities and colleges of Uttarakhand in UG from the academic session 2022-23.
