Nainital Literature Festival to begin on April 25

A three-day Nainital Literature Festival will be held from April 25 to 27 at Mountain Magic in Charkhet on Kaladhungi Road in Nainital town. Notably, this is the first edition of Nainital Literature Festival being organized by Lekhni Foundation. Writers and artists from India and abroad are likely to participate in the three-day festival.
Addressing the media, the founder of Lekhni Foundation, Amitabh Singh Baghel said that the fest would feature thirty sessions which would focus on multiple subjects like folk tales, culinary art, politics, history, literature and mythology. Besides, the richness of different languages and cultures will be showcased. Further, the festival will felicitate Sahitya Akademi Award winner for translation Anisur Rahman and eminent writer Ashok Pandey known for his lively prose. Literary figures Indu Pandey and Pushpesh Pant will also participate in the festival.
Baghel further said that the festival would prominently showcase Kumaon’s cultural heritage, adding that a number of figures from the film world would also be present. “Registration for this programme is free and 200 people have registered so far. We expect students to attend the festival in large numbers,” he said.
