The Haridwar district magistrate Dhiraaj Singh Garbyal has said that names of proprietors will be displayed on eateries and vends on the Kanwad route for public convenience. Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that this is being done all along the route from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. He said, “This is for the convenience of the people so that they know whose hotel they are eating in. Even when you go to the bazaar, it is common for the name and phone number of the proprietor to be displayed. This step has been taken for the convenience of the Kanwadias. We have deployed sectoral and zonal magistrates for proper management of the Kanwad Yatra. Adequate arrangements for drinking water, toilets and other facilities have been made on the route,” he said.
