Nanda Devi Festival review meeting held

A number of senior Nainital district administration and police officers, including the sub-divisional magistrate and superintendent of police, met the senior functionaries of the Shri Ram Sevak Sabha regarding the nine-day Shri Maa Nanda Devi Festival starting on August 28. The SP, Nainital, Jagdish Chandra reviewed the security arrangements made for the festival. He said that police personnel would be present in plain clothes, too, and added that things would be monitored round the clock through the CCTV cameras installed in the festival area.
Special arrangements were being made for crowd management in those areas where people gather in their maximum number, the SP said. Women were also requested not to wear gold ornaments in the fair area. Besides, all stressed on the point that this would be a polythene- free festival.
The president and general secretary of Shri Ram Sevak Sabha, Manoj Sah and Jagdish Chandra Bawadi respectively were among those present at the meeting.
