NAPSR seeks strict action against schools exploiting parents
The state government and the High court of Uttarakhand have allowed private schools just to take the Tuition fees from the parents but in the name of tuition fees schools are arbitrarily taking money from the parents said National Association of Parents and Student Rights (NAPSR) president Arif Khan. “Some schools have even raised their fees even after the prohibition on this by the high court. Private schools are exploiting parents mentally and economically. The high court has also ordered that even if a family is not able to pay fees on time a child should not be deprived of education because of this but what we are witnessing nowadays is just the opposite. Private schools are not allowing children to appear in exams without submitting their fees,” he added.
Khan also stated that NAPSR wants the education department to take action on such schools which are not adhering to high court and state government orders. “If strict action is not taken against such schools, such institutions will keep exploiting parents willfully. The chief education officer should also face action for her irresponsible and careless attitude towards students. Schools are saying that they will make a committee to address parents’ problems but we know most of them are going to be fake. We want the education department to form a committee to look into parents’ problems,” he added.
