The nation is in strong hands as now the soldiers do not have to seek the Centre’s permission to retaliate to firing from neighbouring nations. Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda said this while interacting with ex-soldiers on the concluding day of his two-day visit to Uttarakhand on Saturday.
Nadda claimed that the nation is safe under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Apart from operational freedom given to the armed forces, he said that the PM spends his Diwali every year with soldiers at the border. In the border areas, the Modi government has constructed about 3,300 kilometres out of 73 ‘all weather roads’ amounting to 3,812 kilometers.
The BJP state president Madan Kaushik expressed his views glorifying the courage and performance of the armed forces, citing instances like the surgical strike carried out in the neighbouring nation against terrorists. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extolled the courage and sacrifices of the armed forces personnel, averring that it is due to them that the national is safe from the enemies.
Union minister of State, Ajay Bhatt compared the discipline of the armed forces to that in the BJP. He said that today the nation exports more than 1,000 items of equipment.
In another programme, while addressing office bearers of local bodies, Nadda sought information about the development works being undertaken by them and asked them to ensure the reach of the governmental development work to the common person. He said that public representatives should be fully aware of all development works in their respective areas and also regularly monitor the same. He discussed the achievements of the Central government and told the public representatives to publicise these widely. Nadda also exhorted them to put in their best for the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
