National Forest Martyrs Day observed at FRI

The National Forest Martyrs Day was observed at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) on Saturday to honour the sacrifices of foresters who had laid down their lives to protect forests and wildlife. A two-minute silence was observed in the honor of the forest martyrs before the start of the formal programme.
The director general of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) and FRI director AS Rawat, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy director Bharat Jyoti, principal chief conservator of forests and head of forest force Rajiv Bhartari, Forest Survey of India director general Anoop Singh, Wildlife Institute of India director Dhananjai Mohan and other senior officers of the forest department, different forestry organisations and scientists of ICFRE and FRI paid floral tributes at the foresters memorial in FRI to honour and remember all men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for forests and wildlife.
