National Games: 8 promotional vehicles to move across State

The special principal secretary (SPS) of Sports and chief executive officer (CEO) for the 38th National Games, Amit Sinha announced on Wednesday that eight promotional canters would be on the move in the cities and towns across the State for school and college students starting from the National Youth Day on January 12. This initiative aims to engage students with the National Games and also to let them book their seats via a QR code.
Sharing details about this initiative, he said that this move is meant to connect students with the activities involving the 38th National Games which Uttarakhand is hosting in its silver jubilee year. “The games will take place from January 28 to February 14. Events will be held at multiple locations, including Dehradun; Haridwar; Shivpuri-Rishikesh; Koti Colony, Tehri; Nainital; Rudrapur; Khatima; Haldwani; Almora and Pithoragarh. The Sports department is now pulling out all the stops to make this sports event a spectacular one with a focus on engaging all segments of the people directly and indirectly. To involve people, we will provide free entry for watching the events,” he said.
Importantly, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had already articulated his government’s determination to engage all sections of the society in the mega sports event. “Hosting the National Games is a matter of pride for us. Entry to all sports competitions will be free, allowing the maximum number of people to witness this great event. I especially urge the students and youth to participate in it in their full strength,” he had stated.
