Blood donation camps were organised in different places of Uttarakhand on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation day on Friday. A programme under the joint aegis of Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society (USACS) and health and family welfare department was organised at NIEPVD, Rajpur road on the day.
The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) has kept ‘Give blood and keep the world beating’ as the theme of this year’s voluntary blood donation day. In the programme 53 units of blood were collected.
The director general (DG) of state health services Dr Tripti Bahuguna, director health services Dr Saroj Naithani, regional manager HUDCO Sanjay Bhargava, chairman CII Vipul Davar, general secretary of Indian Red Cross society Dr M A Ansari and others were present on the occasion.
