Nation’s development not possible without village development- Maharaj

MK Gandhi’s dream of Ramrajya in India will be achieved only when the Panchayats become empowered and self reliant while the last eligible beneficiaries in remote villages also receive the benefit of development and welfare schemes. The development of the nation is not possible without the development of the villages. The State’s Panchayati Raj and Rural Construction minister Satpal Maharaj said this while speaking at a programme organised in Kashipur on the occasion of national Panchayati Raj Diwas.
Addressing Panchayat representatives from various districts on the occasion, the minister said that the Panchayats have a crucial role in the achievement of sustainable development goals 2030. The more empowered the Panchayats are, the easier will be the way to achieving the sustainable development goals. The development of the entire nation is possible only through the development of the villages, he said. Maharaj also requested the Social Welfare minister Chandan Ram Das to increase the minimum income limit to Rs 6,000 in old-age and other pension schemes so that other deserving people also receive the benefit of these schemes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also virtually addressed all Panchayats across the nation from the Palli Gram Panchayat in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir and digitally transferred the award money to accounts of Panchayats which received the national Panchayat empowerment award on the occasion.
Five Gram Panchayats of Uttarakhand were also awarded the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar. Dehradun district Panchayat chairperson Madhu Chauhan, Pratapnagar block Pramukh Pradeep Ramola, Purola block Pramukh Reeta Panwar, Aurangabad Gram Panchayat development officer Anurag Chauhan, Prakash Singh Rawat of Manjyali Gram Panchayat, Kothar Pradhan Neeraj Payal, Painsar Pradhan Surendra Singh Rawat and Kedarkhala Pradhan Tabassum Imran received the awards on the occasion.
