In latest news from Uttarakhand, the president of Nainital Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh Limited (NDUSSL) Mukesh Bora-an accused under the POCSO Act-has obtained bail. A single bench of the Uttarakhand High Court granted him bail during hearing on the case. Notably, a local woman had filed a complaint against him, alleging that her minor daughter and she were molested by him in a Kathgodam-based hotel where the accused had taken them to on November 10, 2021. Significantly, the FIR was lodged regarding the case in 2024.
The lawyer pleading for Bora told the court that the long time gap between the alleged incident and the lodging of the FIR aroused doubt over the authenticity of the charge.
