Nearly 150 people were admitted to hospitals after consuming buckwheat flour (kuttu atta) in Dehradun. The incidents occurred mostly on Sunday night with patients visiting the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital and the Deen Dayal Upadhyay district hospital complaining of food poisoning symptoms.

According to reports, about 47 patients are currently admitted at GDMC hospital, while more than 90 patients are admitted at the district hospital.

In response to the incident, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat and officials visited the district hospital on Monday to assess the situation. They expressed grief over the suffering of the patients and directed the hospitals to provide necessary service to them. The police have also warned the public to refrain from consuming the flour from particular outlets in Dehradun as most of those suffering from food poisoning had purchased the flour from these outlets.
