In latest news from Uttarakhand, people are turning up at the booths and casting votes in large numbers for the Lalkuan municipality election. The turnout was a little slow after polling commenced at 8 AM, but later it picked up pace. As per the State Election Commission officials, while the percentage was 7 between 8 and 9 AM it shot up to 13.6 per cent at 10 AM and 30 per cent at 12 PM and 46.42 per cent at 2 PM. They further said that the longest queues were found at Ward numbers 1 and 2.
