Nearly one lakh new voters added in Uttarakhand electoral rolls

A total of 99,992 voters have increased in Uttarakhand since the month of October last year. The Election Commission which had undertaken a campaign to revise the electoral rolls published the final electoral rolls on Monday according to which the State has 42,70,597 male and 39,72,540 female voters. The number of transgender voters in the State is 286.
Releasing the final electoral roll , the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand V Shanmugam said that 2,57,933 new voters were added in the rolls while names of 1,58,011 voters were deleted in the electoral rolls due to reasons like duplicity, transfers and deaths.
As per the rolls, Dehradun district has 15,30,939 voters, while there are 14,53,842 in Haridwar, 13,17,741 in Udham Singh Nagar, 2,41,585 in Uttarkashi, 2,98,498 in Chamoli, 1,94,342 in Rudraprayag, 5,15,974 in Tehri, 5,70,335 in Pauri, 3,72,720 in Pithoragarh, 2,16,989 in Bageshwar, 5,35,289 in Almora, 2,05,629 in Champawat and 7,89,540 voters in Nainital. The CEO said that there are 93,357 service voters in the State out of which 90,763 are male and 2,594 are female. Pauri district has maximum number of service voters (15,753) followed by Pithoragarh (13,944). Chamoli has 10,211, Dehradun has 9,331, Almora has 6,918 and Tehri has 5,751 service voters. He said that the State has 69,974 Person with Disability (PwD) voters out of whom 44,766 are males and 25,206 are females. The State has 1,411 voters (558 males and 853 females) who are aged above 100 years. Shanmugam said that the State has 1,29,062 first time voters (between 18 and 19 years).
The process of addition and deletion of names in the electoral roll will continue, the CEO added.
