Need to expedite survey process of madarsas to prevent alleged illegal activities: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Thursday that there is a need to speed up the survey process of madarsas with the help of the police department to stop alleged illegal activities in the name of imparting education to young children there. He stated this at the inauguration of Police Week in Dehradun at the police headquarters. The theme of this one week event this year is ‘Uttarakhand Police Manthan- Challenges and Solutions’. He said on the occasion that unwanted elements like people with criminal tendencies are settling in various areas of the State which is a serious matter of concern and it is a major responsibility for the police to take preventive measures against it. The CM also stated that about 1,000 constables will be recruited in the police department next year. Also, 1,521 Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) jawans will continue to provide services temporarily to the police department till the completion of currently prevailing recruitment process of 1,521 police constables, said Dhami. He said that women’s police stations in Srinagar and Almora will now also work as cyber police stations. He said that the police department would not have any shortage of resources. The government would also increase the budget for construction of residential facilities besides simplifying the vehicle purchasing process for the department, added the CM.
