The Bharatiya Janata Party state president and MLA Madan Kaushik opined that the Congress should contemplate on how to help the general public amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic instead of raising political issues to indulge in politics. He said that the issue of MNREGA personnel has been resolved amicably. The government has made it clear that none of the personnel will lose their job. On the contrary, employment opportunities will be created and jobs will be provided to the people. Kaushik said that due to the impact of Covid-19 in the state for about two years, no competitive exams have been held. The whole focus of the state government now is on saving lives with no time even to respond to the political questions of the opposition. Kaushik said, “Though the BJP has no right or interest in interfering in the internal matters of any political party, it would have been better if the Congress high command could motivate its leaders to unite and fight against Covid. The Congress is making news due to its internal factionalism and failing to fulfill the responsibility of the opposition which is unfortunate amidst the Covid pandemic. Had the Congress workers become involved in serving the people in the state, they would have been visible among the public,” he said.
The BJP state president said that there will be time for politics after the Covid pandemic is successfully defeated. The opposition parties will be able to stage their events like protest demonstrations and burning effigies but it is important to focus only on serving the public now. He averred that the BJP is working hard to tackle the pandemic from the plains to the mountainous regions. The BJP workers are busy facilitating oxygen, blood, ration and other relief materials with the control rooms set up by the party in the districts facilitating service down to the booth level.
