A National Students Union of India (NSUI) delegation led by its State president Vikas Negi submitted a memorandum on NEET scam to Dehradun district magistrate on Tuesday. In the memorandum directed to the State governor, the NSUI said that the NEET paper leak case has exposed a scam within the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Negi said that paper leaks in the NEET and NET examinations have shattered the faith of the students. He said that the data released by the Union government shows that last year 1.25 crore students gave NEET and NET examination and the paper leaks have left these students high and dry. Negi said that the 2024-25 academic session has commenced and the process of admissions in various technical and higher education institutes is underway. He said that many private institutes are forcing the students to avail the hostel and transport services provided by them which is wrong. Many institutes are threatening to deny admission to the students who are not availing the hostel and transportation facilities, he averred.

He said that the governor should take cognisance of the issue and prevent exploitation of the students.
