Advocate and RTI activist Vikesh Negi sought euthanasia from the government after the police externed him from Dehradun district on Thursday for six months under the Goonda Act for his alleged involvement in land encroachments, fraud and other criminal activities. Negi posted a video clip on Facebook on Thursday and said that he is allegedly being targeted because he exposed several alleged scams in the government works under the RTI Act and through PILs in court, among others. He said, “I worked hard day and night and exposed several scams and frauds like scam in the Sainya Dham project and disproportionate assets of the previous Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’. This is the reason I am being punished in this way by the government.” He alleged that several fake cases have been registered against him in police stations because he raised his voice against alleged scams going on in the government. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself talks about corruption-free India and he was doing the same by uncovering scams and frauds. Negi stated that rather than torturing him and destroying his life for bringing such scams before the public, the authorities should give him permission for euthanasia to end his life.
