NEP- 2020 set to restore glory of ancient Indian education system: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 would restore the glory of the ancient Indian education system by re-prioritising the holistic approach of ancient education. He said that the NEP-2020 will develop scientific thinking among children and youth of the country.
The CM was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of inauguration of the new building of Mallikarjun school in Lohaghat, Champawat on Friday. He said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the NEP-2020 in school education.
The CM said that the State government is committed to make Uttarakhand the best of the country.
“This resolve of ours will be fulfilled only when our students will be provided quality education by the teachers. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved that India should become a developed country when it completes 100 years of independence,’’ he said. The CM exhorted the students to make education the top priority of their lives.
He listed implementation of a strict anti-copying law as one of the achievements of his government. Dhami said that the government has so far sent more than 100 people associated with the copying mafia, behind bars. He added that in the last three years the government jobs have been provided to 19,000 youths in the State. The CM said that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will soon be implemented in the State and assured that the State government will enact a stringent land law.
He said that the State government is moving at a fast pace towards the vision of the ideal district Champawat.
He said that the Mallikarjun school is working towards realising the vision of late Mallikarjun Joshi to provide excellent and quality education to the children in this area. He said that the children have performed a very wonderful experiment in the school laboratory, for which he wished the children a bright future.
