In latest Uttarakhand news, in a daring escape, an under-trial woman prisoner fled a lockup in Pithoragarh in the wee hours. She had been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and lodged in the lockup. Police said that the 25-year-old Nepalese woman has been identified as Anuska. She reportedly used a saree to climb the lockup wall. Several police teams are on the lookout for the woman with all the hanging bridges and all routes to enter Nepal being sealed, informed the SP Pithoragarh Lokeshwer Singh, adding that they would soon recapture the escaped prisoner.
