Claims that people close to CM, cabinet minister, BJP leaders got jobs in Vidhan Sabha
The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has claimed that major irregularities occurred in recruitment of 129 personnel in Vidhan Sabha during the tenure of cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal as the speaker.
He said Public Relations Officer (PRO) of former president of Uttarakhand BJP Madan Kaushik, PRO of cabinet minister Rekha Arya, PRO of general secretary (Organisation) of state BJP Ajaey Kumar and wives of two OSDs of chief minister are some of the people who were recruited in the Vidhan Sabha secretariat. He said that most of the 129 recruited are close to the politicians and it proves that nepotism and corruption prevailed in the appointments in Vidhan Sabha.
He said that it is a matter of great concern that the secretariat of Uttarakhand assembly has more than 560 employees which is more than the number of employees in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh which is many times bigger than Uttarakhand. He said that speculations are rife that the jobs in Vidhan Sabha were sold for lakhs of rupees.
