New Education Policy lays much emphasis on local language: Prof Annpurna Nautiyal
HNB Garhwal Central University, Srinagar, Garhwal’s Vice chancellor Prof Annpurna Nautiyal has asserted that the New Education Policy 2020 lays much emphasis on imparting education in the local languages.
Prof Nautiyal was speaking as the Chief Guest in the inaugural session of a weeklong Short Term Training Programme on Pedagogy of Digital Learning and New Education Policy, that started today and is organized by the Faculty Development Centre under Pandit Madam Mohan Malviya National Mission for Teachers and Teachings Scheme of Education Ministry, Government of India.
Prof. Nautiyal, further, emphasized on the fact that digitalization of knowledge in local language requires in-depth knowledge, technical-skills and innovative approach in pedagogy. “Multidisciplinary approach in teaching learning process as well as in research has been the benchmark of the New Education Policy”, she said. At the same time, the Prof Nautiyal expressed her concerns over retaining the strength of traditional teaching learning method. She said that in online teaching the key- board has become our virtual fingers but the hand- writing with actual fingers are deteriorating in this process. For this purpose, the art of writing should be developed and promoted by organizing writing competitions in various fields. She expressed her hope by saying that New Education Policy could bring a brighter future in the field of innovative education for development and making a prosperous India.
Prof. MPS Ishar, the former Vice-chancellor of MRSP Technical University, Bhatinda, Punjab and Jammu University Jammu and Prof. Indoo Pandey Khanduri, the Director of the Faculty Development Centre were other prominent participants at the inaugural session of the programme.
