On the lines of Ola and Uber, a taxi app called Pawan is coming up in Dehradun. Two unions-Parvatiya Bahan Sahayak Committee and Harrawala Taxi Union- have jointly created this taxi app. The senior functionaries of thee unions said that it would be expanded across the State soon and provide livelihood options to the unemployed youth. Facilities like seat reservation and live tracking are also available for passengers.
The unions further said that the taxi drivers who are natives of Uttarakhand would be registered in this app, adding that on completion of all Transport department-related formalities, the app would be launched.
The vice-president of Harrawala Railway Station Taxi Union, Amit Singh said that the ‘Pawan’ app was currently being tested. “After the technical testing is completed, it will be opened to the people,” he added.
