A delegation from New Zealand comprising scholars from esteemed educational institutions visited Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology and discussed the progress of the dairy projects being implemented at the university. They said they had come to promote cooperation between New Zealand and India in dairy research and dairy industry under the Dairy Cooperation Programme of the Government of New Zealand.
On Friday, the delegation visited the Academic Dairy Farm, Nagla where they inspected advanced dairy management techniques. Later, a meeting was held between the delegation and senior academics from Pantnagar University during which topics related to genetic improvement, sustainable agricultural practices and reduction of greenhouse gases in dairy industry were discussed extensively. Along with this, special emphasis was laid on encouraging student exchange, research exchange and faculty exchange programmes between Pantnagar University and Massey University, New Zealand.
