Newly appointed CMO inspects district hospital

The newly appointed Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma and sub divisional magistrate Hargiri inspected Deen Dayal district hospital on Tuesday. During the inspection, the CMO assessed the health facilities and services available at the hospital. Discussions were held regarding the emergency services, outpatient department (OPD), pathology, radiology services, cleanliness and ways to enhance patient convenience while providing efficient treatment.  Following this, the CMO also visited the model vaccination centre at Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital. They observed that many beneficiaries were utilising the vaccination services available at the centre. During his visit, the CMO interacted with the beneficiaries and family members of the children present, officials said.

It will be recalled that recently, the newly appointed CMO had conducted a meeting with officials, where he reviewed the health services and programmes in the district. He discussed the current status of various activities and instructed the officers and staff to work collaboratively to ensure that health services in the district are high-quality, accessible and timely. He emphasised that the patients visiting the hospital are the most important individuals and that their complete treatment and satisfaction are key indicators of the department’s progress.  Dr Sharma said that the infrastructure and human resources will be evaluated and efforts will be made to ensure that there are no shortages of resources, doctors, or personnel in any hospital or medical unit within the district. He also instructed the doctors and staff at the hospitals and medical units to provide a warm and supportive environment for patients and their attendants.
