In latest news from Doon, the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun organised a special job fair for persons with disabilities. On this occasion, the director of the Institute, Manish Verma said that this fair is not only a platform to provide employment opportunities but also a significant means of empowering the disabled community with self-respect and confidence.
The job fair was organised in collaboration with Sarthak Educational Trust and NABET. A total of 237 persons with disabilities, including visually impaired, hearing impaired and mobility impaired, participated in the event. Representatives from nine prominent companies were present to interview the candidates. During the event, 49 candidates received immediate job offers while 50 others were shortlisted for second-round interviews at various company offices.
