The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) will announce the shortlist of students selected for admission to specific classes on their official website on April 28. This information was shared by the principal of NIEPVD, Amit Sharma, during a discussion regarding the status of admissions for the year 2025.
Sharma said that the admission registration process for various classes at NIEPVD commenced on February 10, with a deadline of March 15. However, some parents encountered delays in schools issuing results, which affected their ability to finalise the registration. In response to these issues, parents requested an extension. As a result, the registration deadline for other classes was postponed to April 10. Subsequently, the online testing for applicants began on April 22, with the initial plan for the online tests to conclude on April 24.
Due to unavoidable circumstances, the online test has been extended by one additional day, he said.
He further added that in light of this, the administration of NIEPVD has confirmed that the shortlisting process will still be completed on schedule. Further, the list of candidates who have successfully passed the online test will be published on their official website on April 28 at 10 AM. Applicants are encouraged to check the results there, he added.
It will be recalled that Sharma previously said that the online test will assess applicants’ fundamental knowledge, subject-specific skills and psychological characteristics. A panel of four to five members will oversee the online test and the selection procedure. The NIEPVD has allocated 10 seats for Bal Vatika, with additional reserved seats distributed as follows: five for class I, three for class II, one for class III, two for class IV and ten for class IX. Additionally, no seats were available for classes V, VII and VIII this year.
