The Ninad Utsav organised to promote the State’s culture concluded on Monday at the Himalayan Cultural Centre (HCC). Director of the State’s Culture department Beena Bhatt, Culture secretary Hari Chand Semwal and many renowned actors from the cinema and arts fraternity were part of the programme.
Regarding the programme Bhatt informed that to promote the culture of Uttarakhand many artistes showcased their talent. She said that the Chholiya dance was performed by Sawal Ghati Chholiya Dal, Almora, which was highly appreciated by the audience. She further said that the traditional folk songs and folk dances of Uttarakhand were also being presented by the artistes. Bhatt further stated that in the programme Sanjay Khanduri’s film on child abuse was also screened to raise awareness on this important issue.
She said that the programme held at HCC was a commitment by the government to preserve and conserve the culture of the State.
