Union minister of State, Sanjeev Balyan said that the nine year tenure of the Central government so far under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a golden era in which the nation was brought out of hopelessness and infused with hope and development to make it a world leader.
Addressing the media as part of the party’s Mahasampark Abhiyan on Monday, Balyan gave a presentation on the various achievements of the Centre in these nine years. “During the 10 years of UPA government before 2014, the news was full of scams, terrorist and anarchist activities aimed at weakening the nation with the economy deteriorating and development lacking. The BJP government under PM Modi created hope by undertaking historic works. The government achieved development on all fronts from infrastructural development to public welfare schemes and giving a new identity to national culture, spiritual and historical importance. There was a time when it was said that the USA protects the interests of its citizens even on foreign soil but today India is capable of protecting its citizens within its borders and abroad. The government safely evacuated more than 21,000 Indian students and citizens from Ukraine, Sudan, Yemen, Nepal, Afghanistan and other nations. During the Covid-19 pandemic, 220 crore vaccines were administered in record time and also provided to 50 nations. From independence till 2014, 10 lakh homes were made for the poor while the current government made 3.5 crore homes in nine years. The earlier governments didn’t consider toilets important but we have constructed 100 per cent toilets across the nation. Only two crore homes had tap water till 2014 while we facilitated it in 12 crore homes,” Balyan said.
He further said that the Modi government had constructed 54,000 kilometres of highways. Compared to the total 74 airports till 2014, 74 new airports were constructed. The metro train service which was in five cities till 2014 has reached 15 cities while 700 new medical colleges were built to provide 70,000 new seats. The minister said that the Modi government has brought about a digital revolution with the nation now positioned second in mobile phone manufacturing and export. Becoming the world’s fastest growing economy, the nation jumped in rank from 10th to fifth position. He said that Uttarakhand has benefited the most from development schemes aimed at lending new identity to heritage. The government accords top priority to national security and has undertaken works like surgical strike, abrogation of article 370 and fully integrating Kashmir with the nation on a priority basis.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that these nine years have been dedicated to good governance and welfare of the poor. Earlier schemes were made according to vote bank considerations but PM Modi changed this and worked to ensure development for all. Inspired by the works done in these nine years also for Uttarakhand, the State government is moving decisively towards making Uttarakhand a model State by 2025, said Dhami.
Earlier, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt exhorted the party workers to take the works of the government to every person in Uttarakhand especially the youths who have recently become adults so that they can understand the transformation that has taken place around them through government schemes since the time they were aged nine years.
