The newly elected MLAs of Manglaur and Badrinath Assembly constituencies, Qazi Nizamuddin and Lakhpat Singh Butola, were given a warm reception by the leaders and workers of State Congress at Rajiv Bhawan on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said the pride of the BJP was shattered in the bypolls. He said that victory in Manglaur and Badrinath is the victory of justice and added that Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi has been fighting for the poor and the downtrodden.
Terming the victory in the bypolls as a major achievement, the leader of opposition (LoP) in State assembly Yashpal Arya said that the Congress party should fight the upcoming municipal body and panchayat elections with unity.
Manglaur MLA Qazi Nizamuddin said that the Congress party won the elections because of the unity exhibited by the leaders. He said that the party will win the assembly election of 2027 assembly and will form government in Uttarakhand.
Badrinath MLA Lakhpat Butola thanked the senior leaders and workers for supporting him.
