NMOPS disapproves State govt’s UPS proposal
PNS | DEHRADUN
Employee associations demanding restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) have expressed their objection to the decision of the State government to offer the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) to the employees.
The president of Uttarakhand chapter of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS), Jeetmani Painyuli said that employees and teachers are demanding restoration of OPS and instead of accepting their justified demand the State government has decided to implement UPS in Uttarakhand.
He said that there are many flaws in the UPS due to which the employees have rejected it. Painyuli said that the government has divided the employees into three categories OPS, NPS and UPS which proves that it is playing divide and rule policy. He said that the employees are united in their demand for restoration for OPS and have rejected both the NPS and UPS. Painyuli added that the employees will wear black armbands on April 1 to register their protest.
