No interviews in recruitment of Group C posts now: CM Dhami
The weightage of the interview would not more than 10 per cent of the total marks in PCS exams

In a major step in the direction of restoring confidence of the youth in the recruitment examinations the Uttarakhand government has decided to do away with the system of interviews in the recruitment of ‘Group C’ posts in the State. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made this declaration during a rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJVM) at Ramlila ground in Haldwani on Wednesday. The rally was organised by the Morcha to express gratitude of CM Dhami for the stringent anti copying law enacted by his government recently. Amid loud applause by the youngsters, the CM said that the interviews would not be held for the non technical and technical posts such as Junior Engineers also. He said that in the higher posts such as the PCS examinations the weightage of the interview would not be kept more than 10 per cent of the total marks. The CM added that the interview board or the person conducting the interview would have to submit an explanation if it gives less than 40 and more than 70 per cent marks to the candidates in the interview.
Expressing happiness at the rousing welcome given by the youngsters in the rally, the CM said that State government is committed to safeguard the interests of the youths and would take strictest possible steps in this direction. He said that the State government has brought up a stringent anti copying law recently. “Now the cheating mafia would be sent behind the bars. The State government would not allow anyone to fiddle with the future of the youth,’’ he averred. Dhami however clarified that the anti copying act is only for the competitive examinations and not for the school and college examinations.
Dhami said that the State government is taking decisions as per the public sentiments and efforts are being made to uplift the living standards of the people of the State. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared from Kedarnath last year that the third decade of the 21st century would be of Uttarakhand and bring this commitment to reality the State government is working. He said that the State government wants to make the upcoming budget as per the aspirations of the youth and it would help in making the women self reliant and bring prosperity to the farmers.He also highlighted other steps taken by his government.
The union minister of State for defence Ajay Bhatt, minister Saurabh Bahuguna, MLAs Arvind Pandey, Diwan Singh, Mohan Singh Bisht, Sarita Arya, Ram Singh Keda, Shiv Arora, Trilok Singh, former minister Bansidhar Bhagat, general secretary organisation of BJP Ajey Kumar and state president of BJVM Shashank Rawat were present on the occasion.
