No major damage from moderate quake jolting U’khand

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter Scale was felt in the Chamoli district of the state early on Saturday morning.
The quake took place at about 6 AM. According to the state government, no major damage to property or loss of life was reported following the seismic event.
According to the National Center of Seismology (NCS), the quake took place at 5.58 AM at a depth of about five kilometres while the epicentre of the earthquake was located about 31 kilometres west southwest of Joshimath in Chamoli district.
