Informing about the recent case of dengue, Dobhal said that a woman residing in Bijnor in UP was hospitalised after testing positive for dengue. The positive dengue report of the woman was received in Bijnor on June 8 and she was subsequently admitted to GDMC for treatment on June 10. Dobhal said that the woman’s condition is stable and does not require platelets for treatment. He assured the residents of Dehradun that there is no need for panic following the dengue patient being admitted in the hospital. He further emphasised the importance of adhering to precautions to prevent dengue cases during the upcoming monsoon season, specifically highlighting the necessity of ensuring no stagnant water in their surroundings. Additionally, he advised individuals using air conditioning or coolers to be extra cautious regarding the collection and changing of water.
Talking about the preparation at the hospital for dengue, Dobhal said that the hospital administration has currently established a 20-bed isolation ward at the Ayushman building. If the situation deteriorates in the future, the hospital administration will further allocate the ICU ward with 10 additional beds for dengue patients. Additionally, the surgery ward will also be transformed into isolation units for dengue patients based on the requirement in the future, he said.
