No one can build Char Dham shrines anywhere in country: Bhatt

The president of State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party  Mahendra Bhatt said that no trust or organisation can build Char Dham shrines anywhere in the country due to the efforts of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The construction of the Kedarnath temple in Delhi halted only after the intervention of the CM.  Bhatt stated this in response to the recent statements of the former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal regarding the Shri Kedarnath Dham Delhi Trust.

Godiyal demanded that the CM should ensure that the trust deposits the donations collected in the name of the construction of the temple to the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). Bhatt said that all trusts and societies are governed by specific rules and regulations, with their registration carried out under the guidance of the society’s office. Banking operations for these entities are conducted according to pre-established procedures, preventing any undue interference. Therefore, making baseless statements or questioning the government’s actions only serves to create unnecessary political controversy, he said.

Bhatt challenged Godiyal and other Congress leaders to use their expertise to reclaim funds collected in the name of Badrinath and Kedarnath temples not just in Delhi but also in cities like Mumbai and transfer them to BKTC. He said that the Dhami government’s firm stance reflects its commitment to protecting the sanctity of Uttarakhand’s sacred sites and preventing any misuse of their names for personal or organisational gain.
