Normal weather forecast on polling day

The weather on the day of polling for the State Assembly elections today is expected to be conducive though very light to light rain/snowfall is forecast in two districts. The state meteorological centre has forecast very light to light rain/snow at isolated places in Nainital and Pithoragarh districts today. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with mist likely to occur during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 22 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
It is pertinent to mention here that as a result of the spell of snowfall in the higher reaches during the recent past, some parts in the higher mountainous regions have retained snow cover. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places on Sunday were 21.4 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 22.6 degrees Celsius and 5.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 12.5 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.8 degrees Celsius and 4.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
