The renowned speaker Robert J Hanlon, a professor at Thomson River University, Canada and also a visiting professor of Kumaun University, delivered an online lecture on America First and its impact on Canada-South Asia relations at a programme organised by the department of Political Science and Directorate of Visiting Professor, KU’s DSB campus.
He explained how geostrategic location and historical relations with the USA shape Canada’s foreign policy and dwelt on how domestic politics, democratic compulsions and diaspora among other factors are influencing Canada’s South Asia policy.
The lecture was followed by a long question-answer session during which the participants asked questions.
Among the dignitaries present was the KU’s vice- chancellor Diwan Singh Rawat.
