Saturday, 29 JULY 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

In latest Dehradun news, the State government has decided to do away with the written examination part from the home guard recruitment process in Uttarakhand. It is learnt from sources in the know that the final merit list for home guard recruitment would be prepared under the reservation system on the basis of the marks the candidates obtain in physical skill and fitness tests and marks obtained in related categories. This would be applied in the home guard recruitment process slated to begin on August 3 in 10 districts. The last date of receiving application is August 21. The administration has already issued order for women home guard recruitment in 330 posts now lying vacant. The documents of the candidates would be scrutinised after August 23 and the physical tests would start on September 1.   The recruitment process is divided in two phases. In the first phase, six districts would be involved and the second, the other four districts would be involved. While speaking on this matter, the assistant commandant Home Guard department Rajeev Baloni said that ten districts do not have women platoons now and so recruitment would be held to 320 posts of home guard volunteer and 10 posts of platoon commander. Earlier the minimum educational qualification for applying for home guard posts was VIII class pass but now it is changed to X class pass.
