A 30-year-old commando from Bindukhatta in Haldwani Narendra Singh Bhandari who was working for the National Security Guard (NSG) under Kumaon Regiment was accidentally killed during a fire drill being held in Delhi. A pall of gloom fell on the village after the news of his death came. The villagers said that his death was all the more tragic with his marriage being slated in Haldwani on November 19. Bhandari’s mortal remains will be cremated with full military honours in his ancestral place on Thursday.
