NSUI initiates mega membership drive in Uttarakhand

The National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Indian National Congress has set a target to make two lakh new members in the State.  A mega membership drive was launched at the State headquarters of the party in Dehradun in presence of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara, state president of NSUI Vikas Negi and others. 

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan here on Friday, the PCC president Karan Mahara said that the NSUI is one of the major ancillary organizations of the Congress party. He exhorted the leaders and workers of the NSUI to achieve the target of membership and inform the people about anti people policies of the BJP government. Mahara assured that the party will extend its full support to NSUI in the membership drive.

The State president of the NSUI Vikas Negi said that 15,000 members will be made in every district. He said that at least 200 new members will be made in every college of the State. Negi asked all the student leaders and NSUI workers to participate wholeheartedly in the membership drive. He said that NSUI workers will be assigned responsibility at the college and university level to make the membership drive success.

 The State vice president of Congress Mathura Dutt Joshi, state general secretary Navin Joshi and leaders of NSUI were present on the occasion.
