Demanding Investigation monitored by a high court judge in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) examination paper leak case, imposition of land laws and cancellation of illegal appointments in the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, the activists of National Students Union of India (NSUI) held a vehement protest here on Monday. The members of the students’ wing of the Congress party held a protest march to the State secretariat.
On the day large numbers of the NSUI workers and leaders accumulated at the Congress Bhawan and from there they started a March towards the secretariat. The march however was stopped by the police near the secretariat following which the students sat on Dharna. The leader of NSUI handed over a memorandum directed to the chief minister to the officers. In the memorandum the NSUI demanded that the investigation of the UKSSSC paper leak case should be monitored by a retired judge of the High Court. The NSUI demanded that investigation of all the land sold to outsiders since creation of Uttarakhand should be done and wanted that an ordinance for restoring 30 per cent reservation should be promulgated by the government.
Speaking on the occasion, the president of the state unit of the NSUI, Mohan Bhandari said that the ministers and the officers of the State have given a free hand for open loot of the State. He alleged that the ministers and officers were receiving commissions from the land and recruitment mafia operating in the State.
Former President of NSUI Shyam Singh Chauhan, district president Saurabh Mamgain and others were present in the protest.
