Officials told to focus on boosting winter Char Dham Yatra: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the officials concerned have been directed to facilitate the winter Char Dham Yatra. Dhami visited the Omkareshwar Mandir in Ukhimath, the winter abode of Lord Kedarnath on Saturday, where he prayed to the lord for the wellbeing of the people. Participating in the Pandav Nritya organised on the occasion, he stressed on collective efforts for the conservation and upliftment of the State’s cultural heritage.
Addressing the public on the occasion, the CM thanked the public for electing the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Asha Nautiyal in the Kedarnath Assembly bypoll, adding that various development works are being taken forward by the government in the area. He said that various announcements have been made for the Ukhimath area which will be executed soon. Various construction works have also been appoved for the Kedar valley after the disaster witnessed in the area earlier this year. Stating that he himself was present amidst the public after the disaster witnessed in the valley in July, the CM said that the second phase of the pilgrimage to Kedarnath was resumed soon after the disaster.
Dhami said that the State government is working to develop Rudraprayag into an ideal district. The women in the Kedar valley are consistently boosting innovation with efforts including quality production and packaging. The demand for the local products is rising across the nation and the government is also abetting this initiative.
“The State government has directed all the officials concerned to boost the winter Char Dham Yatra and is issuing guidelines for this purpose. All the necessary arrangements are being spruced up for the winter Char Dham Yatra. A high-level meeting is also slated to be held soon regarding the winter Char Dham Yatra. Our government starts preparing for the next Yatra season as soon as the current pilgrimage season ends. We are also working to ensure that the people get work for the winter pilgrimage,” he said.
Recalling that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in Kedarnath that the third decade of the 21st century belongs to Uttarakhand, the CM said that the State government is working to fulfill this vision.
MLAs Asha Nautiyal, Bharat Singh Chowdhary, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee chairman Ajendra Ajay and others were also present on the occasion.
