One arrested in fraud case against Kaushik’s staff

The alleged PRO of Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik is absconding while one person has been arrested by the police acting on an FIR regarding money being charged in the name of providing jobs in Haridwar district.
In the Bhagwanpur police station area of Haridwar, an FIR was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by a former Pradhan who had named two people accusing them of promising a job to his son and nephew in the municipal corporation in return for money. The complainant had alleged that Sanjeev Sharma and Pintu Sharma had taken an amount of Rs seven lakh from him while assuring jobs for two persons. The victim told that Rs 2.5 lakh was transferred to Sanjeev Sharma’s account and Rs 4.5 lakh was given in cash. The victim alleged that Pintu Sharma is the PRO of BJP State president Madan Kaushik, although so far no one has confirmed this.According to sources, the victim has also made some video recording which he handed over to police as evidence. He said that last year vacancies for the appointment of 646 posts in the municipal corporation and Panchayat were opened and that the examination was held in October 2021 with the result being declared in April 2022. As his son and nephew were not selected after the results were declared, he sought his money back but Sanjeev and Pintu Sharma allegedly kept avoiding him.
The Manglaur police circle officer Pankaj Gairola said that a case was registered on the basis of the complaint. One of the accused Sanjeev Sharma has been arrested while investigation of the case is continuing, he added.
