In latest Uttarakhand news, a person was killed when a huge chunk that broke loose from the hillside fell on a car that remained stuck in a traffic jam on the Badrinath Highway in Chamoli district. The deceased who was the driver of the car died on the spot. The mishap happened one kilometre ahead of Pipalkoti. Notably, the other persons travelling in the car came out of it as they were feeling restless due to the long traffic snarl and when they were out of the car the accident happened. It started raining then and debris came rolling down the hill.
Informing of the accident, the Pipalkoti police station in-charge Pradip Rawat said that the deceased had been identified as Suman (42), resident of Jakholi, Rudraprayag.
