In latest Uttarakhand news, as the rain spree is continuing unabated across the State, similarly there is no let-up in occurrence of road mishaps taking toll of lives. The latest accident occurred in Kotdwar of Pauri district in which at least one person was killed and two others remain untraced as the car they were travelling in crashed into Khoh river three kilometers ahead of Kotdwar town near Lalpur. It is learnt that five people were seated in the car and the accident happened in evening. While one body was retrieved, two others were rescued and the other two remained untraced with rescue operation going on. The deceased has been identified as Ishrar, resident of Basera village in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh.
On being informed of the accident, local police team accompanied by SDRF and fire service personnel reached to the accident site. While the injured person was sent to the Base Hospital two others were rescued from the river. Though the rescue operation continued till midnight two persons have remained untraced.
