One nation one election forward moving concept: Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the idea of the ‘one nation one election’ is a concept which will take the nation forward on the path of development. The CM said that he supports the concept of ‘one nation one election’. He said that the union government has set up a committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the concept of one nation one election which is a welcome step. The CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always thinks about taking the country forward on the path of development. He added that PM Modi firmly believes in ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat concept and works to achieve this. The CM said that the concept of ‘one nation one election’ will take the country forward in its journey to become a world leader.
It is pertinent to mention here that a day after deciding to convene a special session of parliament from September 18 to 22, the Narendra Modi government formed a committee headed by former President Kovind to work on the ‘one nation one election’ legislation. The idea of holding all the elections simultaneously is being advocated by a major section of society. Its supporters point out that the multiple elections take its toll on development and government work due to imposition of model code of conduct (MCC).
