One Rawat blocked another Rawat’s entry for 5 days

Harak Singh Rawat was expelled from BJP for a period of six years and removed from the Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet on January 16 when he was in Delhi. Since then the influential leader was trying to find a place in the Congress party. He had openly expressed his desire to join the Congress party and said that he would work for the victory of the Congress even if the party doesn’t take him. The delay in his entry took place due to the resistance posed by former CM Harish Rawat. He even termed the former cabinet minister as a murderer of democracy for his role in bringing down his government in the year 2016. On his part Harak Singh said that he is ready to apologise to Harish Rawat not once but 100 times calling him his elder brother.

While Harish Rawat was opposing the entry of Harak Singh, PCC president Ganesh Godiyal and the LoP Pritam Singh were in favour of his entry in the party. Interestingly the Congress high command had left the issue on the wisdom of the state leadership. On Friday Harish Rawat finally relented which paved the way for Harak Singh’s much anticipated entry into the Congress party.
